Bingo and Oklahoma: Two Peas in a Pod

Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. That’s because the Native tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for generations. Clients from many of the neighboring states load up in passenger cars and head over to Oklahoma to play Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA followed a landmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. Since that time, 23 of the thirty nine American Indian bands of Oklahoma have established gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the wagering restrictions, and at this time operate 10 gambling dens of their very own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were built on. Electronic games like one armed bandits weren’t approved, since they’re thought to contribute to gambling problems more than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma governing edicts have changed to allow for gigantic Amerindian betting casinos. You will now see Amerindian casinos with slot machine games, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are still not allowed in the Amerindian casinos yet, although that is simply a waiting game. Nobody can say with what having different casino games in the bingo parlors will do for the appeal of bingo.
