Bingo Chat Advice and Demeanor

by Brennen on Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Like anyother chat room, a bingo chat room has a definite attitude that must be discerned. Most of this etiquette is applicable to other net chat sites as well, and simply amounts to common sense. As in anymost form of electronic written communication. Typing in all cap letters is seen as yelling and and therefore rude. Of course at a certain instance in their lives everybody involuntarily hits the Caps Lock key, and this kind of slip-up is perfectly defensible, but it is still appropriate to follow it up with an appropriate apology.

Profanity and the use of bad language is similarly condemned, just more so. As deplorable as it is to display such language in any company where you do not know the folks really well, it’s as deplorable in an internet bingo chat site. Again this is just a matter of using the same clear thinking as one would in the real world. Personal bad-mouthing administered at other enthusiasts are also not okay, even though you might feel that you are only indulging in some competitive advantage.

As a rule you are always more fortunate to observe the chat for a while prior to barge in with your own 2-cents’ worth. This will permit you to work out what the other players are talking about, including the tone of the conversation. Almost all bingo chat rooms are watched, so there is aperson at a personal computer somewhere being alerted by a program monitoring "trigger" phrases and words. They won’t pause to kick individuals from chat rooms if anything bad is noticed, so it is not only the wrath of your fellow players that you contend with if you insist on breaching web bingo chat site etiquette.
