Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the Indian tribes of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for generations. Patrons from many of the neighboring states load up in trucks and travel into Oklahoma to bet on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) followed a landmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. From that instance, 23 of the thirty nine Indian bands located in Oklahoma have introduced gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Native band to take advantage of the gambling rules, and today run ten gambling dens of their own.
